Identity is the new perimeter. Not the firewall.

The most common entry point for attackers is not a technical security leak - it's a compromised account. A stolen password, overly broad access, an admin account without restrictions.

What identity protection means in concrete terms

Identity Protection is not a single product. It is a combination of technologies, policies and ongoing operations, built on Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory). The basis is the central administration of all users, groups and authorizations. Building on this are mechanisms such as multi-factor authentication (MFA), passwordless access via FIDO2 or Microsoft Authenticator and single sign-on (SSO) for all connected applications. This reduces password risks and simplifies day-to-day work at the same time.

The next layer is conditional access: access requests are not simply approved or rejected, they are evaluated. Which device is making the request? Is it compliant? From which location? What is the current risk level of the account? Only then does the system decide: allow, require MFA or block.

This entire stack is implemented, configured and permanently operated by us.
Privileged access

The most dangerous account in your company is the admin account if it is configured incorrectly.

Permanent admin rights are an avoidable risk. With Privileged Identity Management (PIM), elevated authorizations are not assigned permanently, but only activated on request, for a limited time, with justification and approval. The complete activation history can be audited at any time.
For external service providers and IT partners, we use GDAP (Granular Delegated Admin Privileges): no blanket admin access to your environment, but precise, role-based delegation with a defined term.
PAM (Privileged Access Management) extends this approach to critical systems outside of Microsoft 365 server access, database administration and network devices. Everything logged, everything traceable.

Identity lifecycle & anomaly detection

Every change in personnel is a security event.

Joiner: A new account no longer receives exactly the authorizations that are necessary for the role. Least privilege is not a principle that is defined once, but one that is enforced on an ongoing basis.

Mover: If someone changes department, old authorizations must be revoked and new ones assigned. Without an automated process, this either does not happen or happens too late.

Leaver: An inactive account with valid access rights is an open window. We ensure that accounts are deactivated immediately when someone leaves - including all associated applications and guest access.
